Tree Surgery at Beautiful Estates in Devon

We feel privileged to work on some beautiful estates in Devon. These photos show the clearance of some large wind blown oak trees. It can feel rather sad to see such magnificent trees at the end of their lives. It is heartening to be able to recycle every part of the tree however. In this case the best parts of the timber went to a local bespoke furniture manufacturer, ready to be turned into something of great beauty. The remaining wood was cut into rings (a lot of rings as you can see from the photo!) ready to be logged up for use as firewood throughout the estate. The brash is chipped up and used on paths and field entrances where it is particularly muddy, so nothing is wasted. This particular estate in part of the National Open Garden Scheme which brings enjoyment to many and raises a great deal of money for good causes and so it is important that it looks its best during the open season. To learn more about the scheme please have a look at National Garden Scheme. Whatever the size or your garden we would be happy to hear from you if you require help or advice.

We also dismantled a Eucalyptus tree from the walled garden that had outgrown it’s location and was overshadowing some of the other plants. On days like these it feels like we have the best job in the world!
